An exploration in woodworking

Forestry Feast Gear began as a passion project for our master woodworker, Sir Adrius, when he was new to the medium. It was challenging to find slatted wood mugs that were of good quality and looked nice. The ones that existed were far outside his price range and unobtainable. It couldn’t be that hard to make them, could it?

What followed was hundreds of hours of research and development, dozens of failed attempts, and numerous improvements to models over the course of several years. Beginning as simple hexagons, the current Tavern Pint represents the culmination of all of that work. Designed to look nice, hold up well, and feel comfortable in the hand, the Tavern Pint stands as a woodworking take on the old English pewter mugs, with a slight taper and wider base.

The Craftsman

Sir Adrius, or Nick Diagostino in the normal world, began his love for woodworking with basic carving twenty or so years ago in Boy Scouts at Scout Camp. Though there were breaks from woodworking, it always drew him back into the art, and helped him to grow as a woodworker. Numerous injuries occurred over the years, and a constant slew of scars cover his hands, but the joy is still there with every single finished piece.

Nick’s favorite project are mugs and cutting boards, and it’s always a joy to see people walking around at LARP events carrying one of his custom, handmade mugs. Currently on the MK5 mug, they are finally a product Nick can say he is pleased with and proud of.

Other projects involve making counter tops, cutting boards, wood spoons, bowls, and plates to be used for everything from the everyday to the special event. If its made of wood, Nick enjoys trying to make and reverse engineer it.

In 2022, Nick was in a horrible car accident, leaving him paralyzed from the waist down. He has since fought hard to be able to access his shop, and currently does wood working as a side hobby.
